New Zealand-wide, the latest research into the effects of finasteride in men who have sex with men is a landmark study that offers hope for a new treatment for a condition which is known to cause long-term harm and should be treated with caution.
Dr Ian White, head of the Department of Surgery and Medical Oncology at the University of Otago in New Zealand, said there was “no such thing as a miracle cure” for the condition.
“The results of the study were very positive”, he said. “The results showed that finasteride, which blocks the enzyme 5-alpha reductase, was as effective as Propecia.
“This drug, however, does not protect against sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, which is the most common type of infection in New Zealand.”
Dr White said that the new drug could be used for treating male pattern hair loss in a similar fashion to the Propecia.
The new drug is also indicated in patients with prostate cancer, and also for the treatment of male pattern hair loss.
Dr White said that the new drug had been developed from an earlier study which showed it was “very effective” in treating hair loss and hair loss in men with prostate cancer. “It’s been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1999,” he said.
The study was funded by the New Zealand government.
“We are currently working to find out whether the new drug will be effective,” he said.
The results were published in the New Zealand Journal of Cancer last month.
Dr White said the study was funded by the New Zealand Cancer Research Fund and the New Zealand Government. He said that the study was funded by the New Zealand Cancer Society.
“The study is one of many to be published that has been published about finasteride in men,” he said.
Dr Michael O’Brien, a researcher at the University of Otago, said that the new drug would “very likely be useful” in treating male pattern hair loss.
“It’s very likely that the drug will be able to treat the condition at least for some men.”
He said the drug was developed from an earlier study which showed that it was “very effective” in treating hair loss and hair loss in men with prostate cancer.
“The drug was developed by Dr O’Brien, and it was originally funded for prostate cancer in men.”
Dr O’Brien said that the new drug was available to treat hair loss in men with prostate cancer.
“The drug is now available for men who are taking finasteride for benign prostatic hyperplasia,” he said.
Dr O’Brien said the drug had been developed from an earlier study which showed that it was “very effective” in treating hair loss and hair loss in men with prostate cancer.
“The drug is currently being used for the treatment of male pattern hair loss in men who have had prostate cancer, and also for the treatment of male pattern hair loss,” he said.
Dr O’Brien said that the drug was also being used as an adjuvant treatment for breast cancer in post-menopausal women.
“It may be used as part of the treatment of breast cancer in women, but it could also be used in other ways,” he said.
“It has been used in the treatment of prostate cancer in pre-menopausal women and breast cancer in post-menopausal women.”
Dr O’Brien said that the new drug was also used in treating prostate cancer in men with prostate cancer.
“It was originally developed as an adjuvant treatment for breast cancer and was also used in the treatment of high-grade tumors,” he said.
“It was originally approved for use as part of the treatment of breast cancer in women who have had a prior diagnosis of this cancer and who have been taking it for many years.
